Victoria Monét’s 5-year-old daughter, Hazel, is featured on her mom’s new album, Frequency of Love.
Hazel joins her mom and Leon Thomas on “You Mean the World to Me” and is credited as an artist and vocalist on the track.
The 22-track Frequency of Love explores several different forms of love, from romance and self-love to family and motherhood.
“The album covers many bases, including love for my daughter, love for the world, what I want to see for it,” Monét told the Associated Press.
After the album’s Oct. 2 release, Monét shared a message thanking Hazel for her support throughout the project.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding and unconditional love while mommy was in school, while I made this album, every time I had to step out of the door without you and when work didn’t end once I got back home!” she wrote on Instagram.
She continued, “I am so honored to have you as a feature on this album (you sound soooo beautiful) and I am so proud of your growth in every way, your natural empathy, your humor, your respect, the way you love and your undeniable talent! Forevemore, Its you and me baby.”
Hazel was just 2 years old when she made her album debut on Monét’s 2023 project, Jaguar II. The then-toddler joined Earth, Wind & Fire on “Hollywood,” which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
The nomination made Hazel the youngest Grammy nominee in history.
During a 2023 interview with Billboard, Monét said Hazel was too young to understand the significance of the accomplishment.
“I’m so proud of her, but she has no idea,” she said.
Monét went on to win three Grammys in 2024, including Best New Artist, while Jaguar II won Best R&B Album.
Frequency of Love also features SZA, Bruno Mars, Lucky Daye, Bryson Tiller and Chlöe. Monét will begin her North American Frequency of Love Tour on Oct. 27.
