Remember Monday Turn Their Night-Out Alter Egos Into Playful New Single ‘Attention’

Remember Monday are leaning further into the playful, personality-driven pop that has quickly become their calling card with their new single, ‘Attention’.

The striking new track finds the British trio turning one of their favourite teenage traditions – inventing increasingly outrageous alter egos on nights out – into a tongue-in-cheek pop anthem about embellishing the truth in pursuit of a little extra attention.

Set against a backdrop of late nights, crowded dance-floors and conversations with strangers, ‘Attention’ captures the hilarious chaos of becoming the most unforgettable person in the room. It is quintessential Remember Monday: witty, theatrical and knowingly ridiculous, with irresistible melodies underpinning a story that feels as mischievous as it is relatable.

The girls are flourishing with their own unique brand of sassy, conversational pop, effortlessly turning everyday experiences into larger-than-life musical moments. On ‘Attention’, that approach feels particularly assured, with the trio embracing the theatricality and humour that have become increasingly central to their sound.

The inspiration comes from the band’s own experiences. Having met at 17, Holly, Charlotte and Lauren quickly discovered that nights out offered the perfect opportunity to reinvent themselves.

“We all met at 17, and the second we were old enough to go clubbing, we committed ourselves to lying to as many people as possible,” the group explain. “Full alter egos, accents, backstories, the works.”

The resulting characters included Holly’s ‘Kelsie’, a Nashville millionaire whose father supposedly invented the yo-yo; Charlotte’s ‘Charlene’, a Liverpudlian who claimed to have dated Andrew Garfield; and Lauren’s ‘Lucie’, an Australian shark-attack survivor who apparently fought the shark – and won.

Sometimes the elaborate stories earned them a free drink or entry into a club, but, as the band admit, the real reward was simply getting attention.

“This song is essentially a warning; if you meet us on a night out: don’t believe a single word we say!” they add.

‘Attention’ arrives during a particularly busy period for Remember Monday. Earlier this year, the trio released the 2000s rom-com-inspired pop banger ‘Delusional’, while a run of festival appearances and recent releases has continued to build their profile both in the UK and internationally.

With millions of streams, international chart success and growing support from radio, television and the press, the uber talented trio have rapidly established themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging pop acts.

Their summer has also seen them hit the road with McFly, adding another major chapter to what is shaping up to be a defining era for the group.

Now, with more new music on the horizon, ‘Attention’ feels like another confident step forward – one that makes clear exactly what makes Remember Monday so compelling. They are not simply delivering polished pop; they are building a world around their music, filled with humour, character and the kind of chaotic energy that makes their songs impossible to forget.

‘Attention’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
