Omar Rudberg is turning up the heat! The Swedish-Venezuelan pop star has released his new EP, ‘Mirage’, a four-track collection that moves between Latin dance-pop, R&B, romantic balladry and club-ready sounds, all held together by an unmistakable sense of attitude, identity and self-assurance.
Sexy, seductive and unapologetically pop, ‘Mirage’ finds Rudberg leaning into the things that make him who he is. There’s a confidence running through the project that feels increasingly central to his artistry: an artist comfortable in his own skin, embracing his individuality and finding power in simply being himself. Rather than chasing a sound or fitting into a particular box, he’s making pop on his own terms!
The EP opens with its title track, a vibrant Latin-dance-pop number fuelled by energy, lust and irresistible momentum. Exploring the intoxicating pull of a connection that feels almost too good to be true, ‘Mirage’ captures the feeling of letting someone get away with more than they should because the attraction is simply too strong.
‘Slow Dancer’ takes a more romantic route, easing into a slower, more intimate ballad that offers a welcome contrast to the EP’s high-energy opener. Elsewhere, ‘Could’ve Been Love’ brings an R&B and trap-influenced edge, with a sharper, almost diss-track sensibility as Omar reflects on what might have been. Closing track ‘Pop My Adrenaline’ brings the dancefloor back into focus, delivering another hit of club-ready pop.
Four tracks, four different moods, but one distinctive personality running through them all. There’s something alluring about the way Rudberg moves between sounds without losing sight of his identity. ‘Mirage’ is playful, sensual and full of character, with a pop sensibility that feels as individual as the artist behind it.
That confidence is already translating into international attention. The EP has reached number one on the iTunes albums chart in both Hungary and Sweden, while also making an impact in Belgium, Poland, Germany and Italy, among other markets.
The accompanying visuals, photographed by Paul Edwards, further capture the spirit of the release. From an orange T-shirt emblazoned with ‘STAY SOFT’ to sequin trousers and a zebra-print couch, the imagery is colourful, expressive and entirely unafraid to have fun with fashion. Fans have already embraced the aesthetic, with one even crocheting their own version of the now-recognisable ‘STAY SOFT’ T-shirt.
With more content teased and a TikTok Live on the horizon, Omar Rudberg is giving fans plenty more to look forward to. But ‘Mirage’ makes one thing clear: this is an artist embracing his own identity, turning up the confidence and having a very good time doing it.
