Aston Villa have confirmed the loan signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham.
Wan-Bissaka, who represented DR Congo at the 2026 World Cup, was one of a number of Hammers stars linked with a summer exit following their relegation.

Mateus Fernandes departed for rivals Tottenham, while winger Crysencio Summerville secured a big-money switch to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
And right-back Wan-Bissaka has followed the duo out of the London Stadium exit.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham United,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The DR Congo international, who played for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has joined on a season-long loan, with a conditional obligation to buy.
“A graduate of the youth academy at Crystal Palace, the 28-year-old full back would go on to spend five years at Manchester United, where he lifted the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.
“After making nearly 200 appearances at Old Trafford, he has spent the past two seasons in east London.
“Welcome, Aaron!”

Amadou Onana suffered a season-ending ACL injury with Belgium at the World Cup earlier this summer.

Centre-back star Ezri Konsa is also on the cusp of a high-profile move to Arsenal, with Tosin Adarabioyo and Taylor Harwood-Bellis among those mooted to replace the England star.

Villa have added bodies to the squad, with Joao Gomes joining from Midlands rivals Wolves.
Alejandro Garnacho has joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea, while Zion Suzuki will replace Emiliano Martinez between the sticks at Villa Park following his arrival from Parma.

Italian left-back Matteo Ruggeri also completed a move to Villa Park, the defender replacing Lucas Digne after the France international returned to Parisian powerhouse PSG.
Villa get their 2026/27 Premier League season underway on Sunday when they make the trip to Brighton.
And Wan-Bissaka is in line to make his debut for the Villans having joined before the 12pm squad registration deadline on Saturday 21 August.
