BTS ‘ON’ the World Stage: From Sold-Out Stadiums to the FIFA World Cup Final

BTS took to one of the world’s biggest sporting stages on 19 July, delivering an energetic performance of their global hit “Dynamite” during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show.

The seven-member group joined an all-star line-up that included Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira and Burna Boy for the historic spectacle at New York New Jersey Stadium. Curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, the halftime show marked the first time FIFA introduced a Super Bowl-style musical performance to the World Cup Final.

Performing “Dynamite,” BTS brought their trademark choreography and high-energy stage presence to millions of viewers watching around the world. The song, which became the group’s first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single in 2020, remains one of their most internationally recognised hits, making it a fitting choice for the global audience.

Following the performance, BTS generated significant buzz across social media, with fans praising the group’s live vocals, choreography and commanding stage presence. Their appearance quickly became one of the most discussed moments of the halftime show, as ARMY celebrated the group’s return to one of the world’s biggest live stages.

The performance also marked another milestone in BTS’s career, adding a FIFA World Cup Final halftime show to a growing list of historic achievements. Having previously performed at major international events and broken numerous global music records, the group once again demonstrated their worldwide appeal by representing K-pop on football’s biggest stage.

For many fans, BTS’s appearance was one of the standout moments of an unforgettable night that blended sport, music and entertainment on a global scale. BTS’s appearance at the historic FIFA World Cup Final halftime show was particularly fitting given the event’s wider purpose. Produced by Global Citizen, the show supported the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise funds to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world. FIFA is also donating $1 from every ticket sold for the tournament to the fund. Throughout their career, BTS have consistently supported charitable and humanitarian causes, including campaigns promoting youth empowerment, mental health and children’s wellbeing. Their participation in a performance centred on using music to create positive social impact therefore reflected values they have long championed.

BTS’s FIFA World Cup Final halftime show appearance comes as the group continues their highly successful BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’, their first full group world tour since completing mandatory military service. The tour, which began in South Korea in April 2026, has seen the seven members perform to sold-out stadium crowds across Asia, North America and Europe. Following their World Cup performance, BTS will return to the tour with upcoming stadium shows in North America before continuing to Latin America, Asia and Oceania through early 2027. The tour supports the group’s sixth studio album, ARIRANG, and marks a new chapter in BTS’s career as they reunite on the global stage after several years focused on solo activities and military service.

Away from the stage, BTS have also enjoyed some downtime. During the London leg of their ARIRANG World Tour they visited Olle Korean Barbecue in Soho. The restaurant confirmed the visit by sharing photos of the group on its official social media channels, delighting fans. The post sparked excitement among ARMY, with many adding the restaurant to their list of must-visit destinations while in London and also fans expressing they had visited the restaurant before. The outing offered fans a glimpse of the seven members spending time together after their sold-out performances at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, highlighting the close bond they continue to share both on and off the stage.
