Swiggy appoints former Myntra chief Nandita Sinha as Instamart CEO

Swiggy has appointed former Myntra Chief Executive Officer Nandita Sinha as the Chief Executive Officer of its quick commerce business Instamart, effective August 3, as the company looks to strengthen leadership amid intensifying competition in the fast-growing quick commerce segment.

Sinha succeeds Amitesh Jha, who led Instamart through a key phase of expansion and product innovation. Swiggy did not disclose Jha’s next role.

“Nandita is one of India’s most accomplished consumer internet leaders, and I’m enthusiastic about the vision, customer obsession and operational rigour she brings to the team we’ve built at Instamart,” Sriharsha Majety, Managing Director and Group CEO of Swiggy, said in a statement.

Majety credited Jha with steering Instamart through a critical period of growth. “Amitesh has provided valuable leadership to Instamart, guiding the platform through a pivotal era of growth, doubling down on Instamart’s differentiation with launches like Noice, and steadily improving our contribution margin journey. Over his tenure, he has been instrumental in scaling Instamart through a critical growth phase, building a strong, high-performing culture, and leaving the organisation in a solid, well-run state,” he said.

Sinha said she was looking forward to leading the business through its next phase of growth.

“I have long admired what the team at Instamart has built. It’s a business with a strong customer-first culture, great talent and significant opportunities ahead. Instamart sits at the heart of how India shops for its everyday needs, and I look forward to working with our colleagues, partners and consumers to shape its next chapter of growth,” she said.

The appointment comes at a time when competition in India’s quick commerce market has intensified, with rivals including Blinkit, Zepto, Flipkart Minutes and Amazon Now expanding aggressively through new dark stores, categories and faster delivery offerings.

The leadership change also follows a series of senior-level exits across Swiggy and Instamart over the past year as the company reshapes its leadership team. In 2026, several executives have moved on, including Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha. The company has simultaneously brought in external leaders to strengthen businesses across quick commerce and its core food delivery operations, with Sinha’s appointment marking one of its most significant leadership hires this year.
