talkSPORT recently told you how the Italian side are battling Manchester United and Tottenham for the Netherlands international’s signature.
And now Villa have identified the winger as a possible replacement for Morgan Rogers.
Rogers is set to join Chelsea in a £117m deal – a record fee for a British player.
The England international is set to undergo his Blues medical on Monday, before penning a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with the option of a further year.
Summerville is set to depart the London Stadium following the club’s relegation into the Championship.
And he has a release clause in his contract allowing him to leave as result of the Hammers’ drop into England’s second-tier.
Summer lovin’
The former Leeds forward proved to a bright spark in an otherwise disappointing season for West Ham – firing in seven goals from 34 games in all competitions.
And his stock has risen as a result of his dazzling displays at the World Cup in North America.
The 24-year-old chipped in with two goals and as many assists as Holland reached the round of 32 – where they lost to Morocco on penalties.
Who could Summerville join this summer?
It was only earlier this month that talkSPORT told you how United had opened talks to sign Summerville.

Though it is believed that any deal to sign him is dependant on the future of Marcus Rashford.
Rashford will return to the Theatre of Dreams after Barcelona decided against turning his temporary loan stay into a permanent deal for £26m.
Meanwhile, Tottenham long-standing interest in the player, having lodged an enquiry to bring him to north London in January.
Spurs have already signed one star from West Ham already this window – snapping up Mateus Fernandes in an £85m move.
As for Roma, they will be hoping to pip rival clubs – including Villa who they raided to sign Donyell Malen on an initial loan deal in January.
They then announced a permanent deal for Malen worth £21.3m in May with the forward scoring 15 goals from 20 games in all competitions.

What has been said about Villa’s pursuit of Summerville?
Speaking of what club would be a best fit Summerville at the beginning of July, European football broadcaster Andy Brassell tipped Villa to be a great fit.
He told talkSPORT: “You just wonder if the right players are around him, the right stage on which to compete, he could really get there.
“I wonder if he could be a potential Aston Villa player going into next season.”
“Now of course we know that their hands are tied a little bit with PSR and they can’t go out splashing out infinite amounts to improve their squad.
“But of course they could always generate some by selling, but I just wonder if in terms of their price level Summerville is about there.
“We know they’re not going to retain Jadon Sancho going into next season, and whether Emi Buendia can keep up the sort of efforts we’ve seen from him last season. Of course, he was very good in the Europa League final as well. We’ll have to wait and see.

“I tend to see him as more of an inside player than an outside player, which Summerville is even though he can come into those central areas as well. So I wonder if that could be a good get for them.
“But there are a number of teams in the Premier League who would really benefit from Summerville, and I think with the right situation around him he’s ready to go and become the player that a lot of people believed he could be when he came into the Premier League with Leeds in first place.”
