Aston Villa are set to lose defender Pau Torres on a free transfer when his contract expires.
The centre-back has revealed he plans to see out his current deal before leaving the club in 2028.

Torres, who joined Villa in 2023, appears unlikely to extend those terms following his latest comments.
Torres future
The 29-year-old has explained he plans to return to former club Villarreal without his boyhood side having to pay a transfer fee.
Torres first joined the academy in 2004, spending 19 years with the club before his move to Villa three years ago.
He was also born in the town based in eastern Spain and made 173 first-team appearances and won the Europa League under Unai Emery in 2021.
A return to Villarreal in the future is now firmly on the cards for Torres if he gets his own way.
Appearing on the La Otra Grada podcast, as quoted by L’Equipe, he said: “If nothing goes wrong along the way, I think I’ll see out the two years remaining on my contract, and that will mark the end of my time at Aston Villa.”
Torres continued: “What I’d like is for Villarreal not to have to pay anything for me. For me to join as a free agent.
“It’s the club of my life and I don’t want them to spend money on signing me.”
Torres has made 109 appearances in all competitions for Villa since moving to the club.

Of those, 36 came last season as he won the Europa League for the second time, once again with Emery as his manager.
Villa’s transfer window so far
Torres’ future exit follows Youri Tielemans’ departure from Villa Park.
The Belgium midfielder has joined Manchester United after his £35million release clause was activated.
Morgan Rogers could be set to follow Tielemans out of the door before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal are set to launch a bid for the England international following talks with both Villa and the player.
Meanwhile, Emery is set to complete his first signing of the summer.
