Sylvester Stallone is reflecting on his three-decade marriage to Jennifer Flavin, admitting there is one change he’d like to make if he could redo it all over again.
For the actor who has had two failed marriages, the third time seems to be the charm, as he and Flavin have one of Hollywood’s longstanding bonds after meeting four decades ago. They share three daughters, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet Stallone.
The marriage has not been without its ups and downs, but the lovebirds seem to have found a rhythm that works. Now, the 80-year-old is giving some insight into why.

In an interview for CBS Sunday Morning, the “Rocky” star was asked what “do-over” he would choose if he could change a situation from his life. He admitted it was a difficult question before turning his attention to his wife.
“I wish I’d married my wife about eight years earlier,” he gushed. “I was like such an idiot, procrastinating. Because you know, I’m still actually learning about relationships that bad.”
Stallone then offered an apology directly to Flavin, saying, “Uh, so I regret that. And I’m sorry, baby,”
The actor reflected on how his childhood probably shaped his thinking as an adult, altering his approach to relationships. He acknowledged that growing up without feeling love from his parents could have played a part.
The 80-year-old believes love can be learned. “It’s a habit, you know, learning to love a really wonderful habit,” he said to host Tracy Smith. “And with my wife, Jennifer, it’s finally come to fruition. It took about 60 years, but we got there.”

While Stallone wishes he married his wife earlier, Flavin has previously revealed what she thinks has helped her marriage stand the test of time, admitting there is no “perfect” union.
“You have good days, you have bad days. You have good years, and you have bad years. You have tough times, but you have great times,” she said, according to US Magazine.
She advised couples to be patient with one another, because everyone had a different mentality in marriage. Flavin noted that people tended to “jump” when things got hard.
“My marriage has lasted the test of time because I’m incredibly patient and I’m incredibly forgiving,” she disclosed, adding that she and Sylvester always made sure to make time for each other, away from the children. “Because if you’re good as husband and wife, your children will be good.”

The marriage has not been without its ups and downs, as Flavin filed for a divorce in 2022, before reconciling and even starring in their own reality show, “The Family Stallone.”
The couple met on a chance encounter at a restaurant in 1988 when Flavin was 19, and Stallone was at the peak of his career. They dated for six years before he broke up with her with a handwritten letter which he FedExed.
The breakup did not last long, and about a year later, in 1995, they rekindled their relationship and welcomed their first daughter, Sophia. They got married in London in May of 1997.
They welcomed their second and third daughters, Sistine and Scarlet, in 1998 and 2002, respectively.

Away from her marriage to Stallone, the former model has never shied away from telling her truth. Such was thr case when she shared her thoughts on the rise of transgender children among famous families.
“I just think Hollywood is, you know, it’s all about expression…So, you know, however you want to express yourself. If you feel like a cat today, you’re a cat. And it’s so loosey-goosey,” Flavin explained, per The Blast.
The 58-year-old believes that while children need freedom to develop, they also need boundaries and structure from their parents.
“I don’t think that we’re really understanding that these kids are not our accessories. They’re little human beings that need structure. And structure is really important for them because it helps their brain organize everything,” the mom of three urged.
Sylvester Stallone Has No Good Memories Of His Parents
“The Rambo III” actor also looked back at how his upbringing shaped his adult life, discussing his complicated relationship with his parents, particularly his mom, Jackie.
As detailed in Stallone’s memoir, “The Steps,” her unconventional life as a celebrity astrologer, palmist, musician, and trapeze artist often took precedence over her children.
According to the actor, she was more focused on pursuing her ambitions than connecting with her family, and he recalled her making a deeply hurtful remark. “The only reason you’re here is because the hanger didn’t work,” Stallone said, per The Blast.
The strained relationship was even more evident when he invited her to the 1977 Oscars, where “Rocky” won Best Picture. She did not attend because Sylvester wouldn’t provide an extra ticket for her hairdresser.
