IShowSpeed Gets Candid About Fame & Loneliness
IShowSpeed recently took to X, where a supporter asked him a personal question about fame and loneliness. A supporter wrote, “After everything — the millions of people screaming your name, the trips around the world, the fame — why do you still wake up some days feeling completely alone… and does it scare you that the louder the world gets, the quieter it feels inside?”
Speed admitted the question hit home. He opened up about the difference between being known as IShowSpeed and who he is personally, Darren. The streamer explained that while millions of people know and support him, the fame can still leave him feeling alone.
“this one hit. yeah some days i wake up feeling alone even after everything. millions of people know speed, but not a lot of people really know darren. youll have thousands screaming your name all day and then you go back to the hotel room and its dead quiet. the louder it gets outside the more you notice it. does it scare me? sometimes fr.”
He went on to share what helps him stay grounded when dealing with those feelings.
“but thats why i hold on to the simple stuff, training, anime, learning piano, and my family. my brother, my mom and my dad knew me before any of this. thats what keeps me me”
