The Young and the Restless sends Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) on the loose, and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is worried she’s going into labor at her baby shower, although it looks like it’s going to turn out to be false labor at the party.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally’s baby is born very soon, and then we may get a really big sweeps twist. I suspect that Patty’s final storyline might collide with Billy and Sally’s storyline once their baby is born. Today we’re going to talk about Patty stealing Sally and Billy’s baby. Because she is deluded and unhinged.
The Young and the Restless: Patty’s Unstable Return
So, after crashing the car when Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) was driving, Patty left him injured and she ran off. She was enraged. Because Matt tried to convince Patty to turn herself in. And of course, she wasn’t having it. So, he yanked Matt’s steering wheel, caused a crash, and it knocked him out. And then Patty escaped. And when Matt woke up, she was long gone.
Now, if Patty was smart, she would just leave Genoa City. But she is way too unhinged to be rational. And instead, it seems likely that Patty is going to head back into Genoa City and make a beeline for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), the object of her obsession. And with Billy and Sally’s wedding coming up next week, we may see Patty creeping around in disguise at their big day. Because she knows, of course, that Jack is going to be there for his brother Billy’s wedding.
Plus, we’ve got Sally at her bachelorette party thinking that she is in labor. Now, it does look like it may be false labor, or the doctors can stop the labor, or it may just be Sally with a twinge of the stomach bug that is going around. But what I think is coming is something at the wedding.
Wedding Twists and Turns on Y&R
I have a feeling that Billy is going to be stunned when Sally goes into real labor at their wedding, because there’s a brand-new The Young and the Restless spoiler. Jason Thompson, the actor who plays Billy, said that Sally and Billy have a newborn very, very quickly after saying, “I do.” So that sounds like labor at the wedding or the reception.
And if Patty is lurking and watching everything to be close to Jack, looking to do some sort of crime of opportunity, this may be what she does. In addition to the tidbit about Billy and Sally’s baby coming very soon and confirmation that their wedding happens next week, Jason Thompson promised some twists and turns at Billy and Sally’s wedding. He said their big day is about much more than just happily ever after.
Jason Thompson said things happen that will have a ripple effect that could last ten to twenty years. That almost sounds like a prison sentence, doesn’t it? So, I have a feeling Patty is going to end up involved in what happens next with Billy and Sally, because he is an Abbott, and Patty is fixated on another Abbott, his brother Jack.
Young and Restless: Patty’s Tragic History
Also, Patty’s mentioned several times recently that she was pregnant with Jack’s baby when they were married decades ago. But Patty had a miscarriage. If you’re a longtime The Young and the Restless watcher, you may remember that Jack was having an affair with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) when he was with Patty. Jack was even late to their wedding because he was in bed with Diane. And when Patty was pregnant, she showed up at Jack’s office one day and caught him getting frisky with Diane.
Patty was distraught, she ran off, and then, in soap style, she tripped and she fell and she had a miscarriage and lost Jack’s baby. Even worse, after that, Patty was unable to have any more children. And she was just telling Matt before she crashed the car that Diane is the reason Patty went mentally unstable. And of course, she’s jealous that Diane had a child with Jack. That’s Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). So, Patty has lots of anger.

Plus, she has mentioned Jack and Diane’s affair and the baby miscarriage several times. And with a new baby about to come, especially because it’s an Abbott baby, I feel like this all might be foreshadowing. We might see Patty convincing herself that Sally and Billy’s baby is meant to be hers, and she snatches the kiddo.
We all know Patty is bat crap crazy. And with November sweeps kicking off at the end of October, it would be a very high-drama, sweeps type of plot if Patty stole Sally and Billy’s baby. I could see Patty, in her own twisted mind, deciding that that baby is hers and Jack’s, like it’s a Patty fresh start with Jack.
Patty’s History of Baby Secrets on Y&R
Plus, Patty has a history with babies that goes beyond her losing Jack’s baby. A decade ago, if you don’t remember, Patty was in Fairview. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) checked herself in after having a miscarriage when she was pregnant with Dylan McAvoy’s (Steve Burton) baby. But Sharon had lost the baby and didn’t tell Dylan. Sharon didn’t tell anybody, for that matter. And if you know your The Young and the Restless family trees, Patty Williams is Dylan McAvoy’s aunt, and she considered Sharon family because she was carrying Dylan’s baby.
But then they were both in Fairview together, and Patty figured out Sharon had a miscarriage and had lied to Dylan about it. And then Dr. Sandy Anderson was drugging Sharon and gaslighting her into thinking she was still pregnant. She had put a pregnancy pad on her and everything. Sandy wanted to punish Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for hooking up with her at a teenage party and daring her to dive into the pool from her roof. It broke her neck and paralyzed her for years.

So, Sandy came back for revenge, and she told Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) that her baby died. That child turned out to be Christian Newman, by the way. And Sandy gave Sage’s baby to Sharon. There was a nurse involved with that, too. It was a complicated plot.
So, Sharon and Dylan were raising this baby boy that they had named Sully. But it was Patty who eventually exposed the truth. And because of her, Nick found out Christian was alive, even though it later came out that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was the bio dad of Christian, not Nick. But Patty was the one who exposed the big baby secret. She was very involved in it.
The Young and the Restless: Possible Baby Theft Plot
So, with Patty bringing up her miscarriage and her history with Jack and Diane, it just got me thinking that Patty might find herself involved in another baby storyline with Sally and Billy’s baby. Patty was ready to run off with Matt. She was excited about starting a new life with him. But once Patty realized Matt didn’t intend to start a new life with her, she flipped. Patty told Matt that she would never be locked up again, and that’s when she crashed their car.
So, it sounds to me like Patty doesn’t want to start her new life alone. And since Matt’s not going to be the one to go with her, maybe Patty is going to take the baby with her. She might even also snatch Jack and take Billy and Sally’s baby, with this twisted idea in Patty’s head that she and Jack could start their own little family. Patty might be totally off the deep end after this incident with Matt. And since Jason Thompson said to expect twists and turns, that could be about what Patty does. And the ten to twenty years, again, sounds like a prison sentence.
Sally & Billy’s Baby Crashes the Wedding on Y&R
With November sweeps right around the corner, we could see Sally in labor and giving birth on their wedding day. And then Patty takes a page from Dr. Sandy Anderson’s playbook and sets the stage for it to look like Sally’s baby was stillborn, like was done with Sage’s baby. That would be very sweeps-worthy, since Sally already lost a baby in childbirth, her and Adam’s daughter Ava.
So, Sally might have what seems like another childbirth tragedy, and Patty may orchestrate a baby theft. But in that case, Sally obviously would get a miracle and get her baby back in the long run. We’ll see if Patty’s story overlaps with Sally’s.
