Upbit has expanded its AI powered market analytics platform with new tools that summarize daily crypto market conditions and identify news and events linked to price moves in individual digital assets.
Summary
- Upbit has expanded Data Lab with AI Market Report and Uptrace, giving users AI generated market summaries and analysis of factors linked to individual crypto price moves.
- AI Market Report uses major asset prices, gainers and losers, sentiment indicators and the Upbit composite index to produce weekday videos lasting no more than 90 seconds.
- Uptrace connects price data with related news, allowing users to select markers on asset charts and view AI analysis of events linked to price movements.
- Dunamu has reorganized AI News Briefing into Real time Issues and Topic NOW, separating ranked market news from summaries that track how individual stories develop.
- Upbit Data Lab has added several tools since its April 2025 launch, including technical indicators, U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether ETF flow tracking and an asset screener.
Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, said Friday that the additions were introduced through Upbit Data Lab, its analytics service launched in April 2025.
The latest update introduces AI Market Report and Uptrace, while an existing AI news service has been reorganized into separate tools for tracking major issues and developing stories.
AI Market Report produces a video lasting no more than 90 seconds using information from across the crypto market. AI selects issues based on their market impact and associated price movements, with the report drawing from the Upbit composite index, prices of major digital assets, leading gainers and losers, and market sentiment indicators.
New reports are released at 10 a.m. on weekdays through Upbit Data Lab and the exchange’s official YouTube channel.
Upbit AI tools track reasons behind crypto price moves
Uptrace takes a more asset specific approach by comparing price data with related news to identify factors that may have contributed to a cryptocurrency’s movement at a particular time.
Diamond shaped markers appear on an asset’s price chart when relevant information is available. Users can select one of the markers to view the AI generated analysis and the related news associated with the movement.
The tool gives Upbit users a way to move directly between an asset’s chart and information connected with specific periods of price activity instead of checking the price and relevant news separately.
Dunamu has been adding analytics functions to Data Lab in stages since its launch. A composite technical indicator arrived in May, followed in June by a feature tracking flows into U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange traded funds.
An asset screener was introduced in August, allowing users to filter digital assets using selected market data.
The new AI services expand the platform beyond those data focused features by using automated analysis to organize market information and connect news developments with movements in individual cryptocurrencies.
AI News Briefing splits into two services
Upbit has reorganized its existing AI News Briefing into Real time Issues and Topic NOW, giving each service a different role in sorting crypto news.
Real time Issues groups news according to the underlying issue and ranks stories based on their importance. Topic NOW is designed for subjects that develop across several separate reports, bringing the information together under one topic.
Each Topic NOW summary is limited to three paragraphs or fewer and shows how the underlying story has developed.
Dunamu said the tools are intended to help users process information in a market that operates continuously and generates large amounts of price data and news.
“The digital asset market moves around the clock, so users can find it difficult to check and interpret vast amounts of data and news on their own,” Dunamu’s chief data officer said.
“We will continue to upgrade related services, using AI to create an environment where complex market information can be understood more easily and quickly.”
The Data Lab expansion follows other work by Dunamu involving AI outside Upbit’s market analysis services. In August, crypto.news previously reported that the company formed a partnership with Visa to explore stablecoin payments, international remittances and AI driven financial services.
Part of that work covers agentic commerce, where AI software can search for products, choose services and carry out payments on behalf of users. Dunamu and Visa said they would examine technology for authorization, payments and settlement, although they had not announced a product structure or launch date at the time.
Dunamu has expanded Upbit services beyond trading
Upbit’s analytics update arrives as its operator develops other parts of the exchange’s infrastructure and services in South Korea.
Dunamu in August became the first domestic crypto exchange operator approved to access the South Korean government’s shared administrative information system. Upbit plans to use the government data for KYC, allowing eligible customer information held by public agencies to be checked during verification instead of requiring users to provide the same documents themselves.
South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety granted the designation after an on site inspection in May and an eligibility review. Dunamu said it was preparing to integrate the system into Upbit’s customer verification procedures.
Another part of Dunamu’s business has moved into institutional crypto custody. The company secured a South Korean police contract in August to store digital assets seized by the National Police Agency for one year after winning a public tender process.
Assets covered by the agreement are managed through Upbit Custody, with the service using offline cold wallets and round the clock monitoring.
At the corporate level, Dunamu remains involved in a planned share exchange with Naver Financial. Completion of the Naver Financial transaction was pushed back to Dec. 31 after the companies faced delays in obtaining required regulatory approvals.
The planned transaction would make Dunamu a wholly owned subsidiary of Naver Financial. Several regulatory processes remained outstanding when the revised timetable was disclosed, including competition and financial sector reviews.
