Maharashtra Charity Commissioner seeks Tata Trusts’ response by October 12 to complaints filed by trustees Venu Srinivasan and Vijay Singh.
The Charity Commissioner of Maharashtra has given Tata Trusts time till October 12 to respond to complaints filed by trustees Venu Srinivasan and Vijay Singh.
The CCM wrote to Tata Trusts on Monday evening seeking its response to allegations of mismanagement raised by two trustees.
Srinivasan and Singh are trustees of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT), which controls 66 per cent of Tata Sons. The two filed a complaint last week.
Srinivasan has complained of an attempted power grab in SDTT after the trust tried to prevent him from participating and voting on Tata Sons’ listing at its board meeting on September 17. In his complaint, he has asked the CCM to restrain Noel Tata from voting in the company’s annual general meeting.
Tata filed caveats with the CCM to ensure no ex parte orders are passed in the case.
