NORTH WEST OPENS UP ABOUT HER PARENTS, ART, FASHION AND MUSIC

North West is sharing a little more about herself.

In a recent interview with EmWell of the Well Well Well show, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West discussed everything from her love of makeup to what she appreciates about her parents.

On her relationship with her parents

When asked to name the people she’s grateful for, North chose her family.

“Like my mom like birthed me and then like she helps me through everything and my dad too and like they’re just nice people,” North said. “I’m glad to have them as my family.”

On using a deer as her symbol

During a drawing exercise, North sketched a deer and explained how it connects to her stage identity.

“It’s lowkey like my symbol I guess for my stage and stuff,” she said. “And it just shows like pure because like a deer is like one of the purest animals and it keeps getting shot at so it resembles me.”

North shared an older painting, too, which she said she made when she was about 8 years old. Although she enjoys painting sunsets and landscapes, finishing a piece can test her patience.

“It was fun, but like just boring. Like painting is boring cuz it takes such a minute,” North said. “Took like even like up to five days.”

On her love of makeup

North said doing her makeup and hair are among the things she enjoys. Sephora is her shopping destination for cosmetics, and she has a specific skill she wants to improve.

“Doing wigs because I want to do wigs on people,” she said.

As for her favorite color, North explained why she settled on lavender.

“My favorite color is lavender because I used to be like, ‘Oh, my favorite color is pink.’ But everybody liked pink, so I was like, ‘No, I got to be different. Like I can’t like pink as my favorite color,’” North said.

On her love of Hatsune Miku

North’s style inspirations include Hatsune Miku, the turquoise-haired virtual singer she recently dressed as for Halloween.

When asked why Miku is important to her, North explained, “I don’t know. I just want to dress like her. I just want to be like her. That’s a lifestyle I want to live.”

On her fashion plans

North said her fashion project, Nory, is still in development.

“Got to work on it better because I want the next drop to be crazy and that’s going to be in a minute, maybe a few years,” she said.

Asked what she plans to create, North explained, “Just like what I’d be wearing but so much elevated and then like making it better.”

On her message to herself

The interview included an exercise in which North was asked to write herself a letter. Her response was brief.

“Dear North, you will get better. Sincerely, North West,” she read.

On making music with her dad in Japan

North also spoke about the time she spent working with her dad in Japan.

“I was going to a studio every day with him. It’s like lowkey training in Japan,” she said.

Her dad encouraged her to practice rapping a cappella, which North found challenging.

“But that’s what got me better. So I’m highkey grateful,” she said.

On scrapping her Elementary School Dropout album

North confirmed that Elementary School Dropout will not be released.

“It’s never coming out,” she said. “I needed to make more music and I needed a different sound. This sound was not it for me.”

She explained that the project later became Grammar School Dropout.

“That’s when it started getting better. The music started getting better. I started producing,” North said.

Asked how many unreleased albums she has, North answered, “Two.”
