It is safe to say Lamar Odom‘s reunion with Khloé Kardashian did not go as he had thought it would.
The former professional basketballer shared an underwhelming review about his heartfelt conversation with the reality TV star on the sixth season of “The Kardashians.”
Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian were married from 2009 to 2016, and the tail end of the marriage was laced with cheating scandals and addiction issues.

The former reality star explained in an exclusive interview that his anticipated reunion with his ex-wife was not as seamless as everyone thought. According to him, things did not go so well as he felt as if he was under attack during the session. In his words, “To me, it really didn’t go well. I felt like I was under attack.”
Despite how he feels, Odom noted that his stance does not invalidate Kardashian’s pain and struggles during their marriage because she was truly there for him at the height of his challenges. He said, “She always tried to do her best when it came to taking care of me. I know it could be a lot, especially when I was recovering from the incident.”
The media personality continued that the reality star holds a special place in his life, and no matter where they find themselves in the future, she will remain unforgettable. Odom stated in the exclusive interview with Page Six that the future of a romantic relationship with Kardashian is nearly set in stone, in that it is water under the bridge, as they have grown from it and are not the same person.

In the new Netflix documentary titled “Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom,” the Good American CEO revealed that she often cleaned up after Odom whenever she found him at hotels with drugs everywhere.
At one point, Kardashian recalled giving him an ultimatum to attend rehab for addiction, or they would get a divorce, and in 2015, the former Lakers player stuck with the latter. The mother of two confessed that she truly did not want to divorce Odom, but he left her no choice.
In retrospect, Odom described that decision as a very poor one, but he failed to see it at the time because he loved the lifestyle of using drugs, and he could not imagine giving it up. He remains grateful for his time married to Kardashian because their travails gave him the strength to stay sober and treat his current partner, Rachel Bradley, with much more respect.

Last year, The Blast noted that the fitness enthusiast and Odom met for the first time in nearly a decade at her best friend Malika Haqq’s home to catch up on the past and move forward. She affirmed that she had no bad blood whatsoever for the former footballer, nor any ill feeling, stating, “There are no feelings. I want him to have his stuff, and that’s it. I wish I could just do that and not have a conversation.” Kardashian added that despite meeting and marrying Odom within 30 days of knowing each other, her love for him was true and pure.
The star stressed that she took her vows seriously and wanted the marriage to work, but there were bigger issues that would not go away with mere wishes. The mother of two stated that she eventually had to leave the marriage behind because he kept repeating some of the behavior she would never get behind.

Kardashian called it quits after five years with the former athlete following months of alleged drug use and infidelity. As shared by ABC News, the reality star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for parting ways with Odom and asked that her name be restored to Khloé Kardashian.
Kardashian’s filing came about four months after Odom was arrested for a DUI in August 2013, where he received 36 months of probation after pleading no contest. According to the police reports, the athlete showed objective signs of intoxication when the cops pulled him over.
The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star did not mince words when it came to expressing her feelings about the ups and downs in her marriage. Weeks after Odom’s arrest, she uploaded a picture on Instagram with the caption: “She smiles to mask the pain in her heart. She laughs to conceal the tears in her eyes.”

The former E! star, on an episode of her podcast in January, shared that leaving Odom was a lot tougher for her than splitting from Tristan. As seen on Page Six, Kardashian shared that she was a lot younger in her marriage to Odom, and it was harder for her to essentially move on.
The entrepreneur did confess that with every relationship where something bad has happened, she has stopped herself from feeling like the victim. Speaking of lessons, Kardashian also added that she would never be with anyone who actively consumes drugs moving forward because it is just a complicated slope of switching between love and concern for the person’s safety.
The social media influencer finalized her divorce from Odom in 2016 and began dating Tristan the same year. She also dealt with allegations of infidelity during her on-and-off romance with the basketballer, which ultimately resulted in the end of their romance. Kardashian did not have any children with Odom, but she welcomed two with Tristan: True and Tatum Thompson.
