Keith Urban is allegedly dealing with a “midlife crisis” that has completely changed who he is following his split from actress Nicole Kidman.
His situation is said to have influenced him to cut off communication with his ex-wife, who reportedly no longer recognizes the man she was once married to.
According to reports, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 15, are well aware of their father’s behavior and have chosen to stay closer to their mother.
The Singer Doesn’t ‘Really Communicate’ With His Ex-Wife
Seven months after the shocking news of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s split first emerged, the initial buzz has begun to settle.
On the surface, both Urban and Kidman appear to have also moved on. The singer was recently spotted headlining Country to Country, Britain’s biggest country music festival, while the actress turned heads during her latest appearance at the Oscars.
However, sources now claim that behind the scenes, Urban appears to be going through personal turmoil that may have contributed to the surprising decision to end his nearly two-decade-long marriage.
One insider alleged that the singer is experiencing a “midlife crisis” and no longer communicates with Kidman, despite their agreement to co-parent their children, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 15.
“Nicole and Keith don’t really communicate,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Things got really bad at the end of their relationship and haven’t rebounded.”
They added, “Keith seems to really want to live the single life, almost like a midlife crisis since the split. He’s turned into a totally different person. It’s like she doesn’t know him at all anymore.”
Sources Deny Claims Nicole Kidman Turned Daughters Against Their Father

Amid Urban’s alleged “midlife crisis,” the singer received a personal blow from his daughter, Sunday Rose.
The budding model recently thanked only her mother in an Elle Australia feature for shaping her creative influences and work ethic, a move that reportedly left Urban “numb.”
Her comments also sparked speculation about whether Kidman may have influenced her, and, by extension, Faith, against Urban following their split.
However, sources who spoke with the outlet dismissed the claims, noting that the former couple’s children are old enough to understand the situation for themselves.
They also pointed out that the girls are naturally closer to their mother, as they spend most of their time with her under the custody agreement Urban and Kidman signed.
“Nicole hasn’t turned the kids on him; they’ve made their own choices about their dad,” an insider remarked. “She isn’t like that. Keith hasn’t tried much to make things better in their eyes. The girls have always been very close with their mother. They are her everything.”
Nicole Kidman Shares A Close Bond With Her Daughters

Expanding on the family dynamics, another source revealed that the children have largely supported their mother rather than their father in the wake of the divorce.
“The girls are definitely Team Nicole – they’re in her corner, they’re hurt and angry on her behalf,” the insider claimed. “There’s some resentment against Keith. If they are blaming someone, it’s him, not her.”
Kidman is also said to be returning the same energy toward her daughters, as she has yet to forget how her older children, Isabella and Connor, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, chose to remain with their father.
“They’re really close to her. Nicole decided that she had a second chance at motherhood and has always taken it so seriously after everything that happened with Tom Cruise and those kids,” the source continued. “She has been a fantastic mother, and the girls know it. So of course, they’re going to be close to her and protective of her.”
Keith Urban Is Keen On Repairing His Relationship With His Kids

Urban’s children’s behavior hasn’t been lost on him, and it has reportedly caused him some sleepless nights.
“Keith knows they’re mad at him, and it’s hurtful. He’s really worried about his relationship with them both,” said an insider.
Moving forward, he plans on doing his best to remain present in his children’s lives and is not placing blame on Kidman for any distance between them.
“1’He’s hurt, but he feels like he can patch things up. He doesn’t blame Nicole, and it doesn’t seem like she’s alienating them from him,” the source continued.
“But he knows he has a lot of work to do, to repair things with them. But he’s determined to do it,” they added.
Nicole Kidman Recently Broke Her Silence On Their Divorce

During a recent Variety interview, Kidman finally addressed her divorce, noting that she is in a good place and focused on moving forward.
When asked if she was “doing all right” since her separation from Urban, the actress said, “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good.”
Kidman continued, “[Last year] I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell. Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’”
She also shared that she has no intention of leaving Nashville despite her divorce. “We have our life here,” the actress told the publication. “I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home.”
