HYDGEN dispatches industrial hydrogen generation skids to Surat’s diamond industry

Manipaddy Krishna Kumar (left), Co-Founder of HYDGEN, explains the functioning of modular industrial hydrogen generation skids to Capt Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada MP, in Mangaluru on Saturday.

HYDGEN, a Mangaluru-based hydrogen technology company, flagged off eight modular industrial hydrogen generation skids from its facility in Mangaluru to Surat on Saturday.

Each skid is a fully integrated, on-site hydrogen generation system engineered and assembled in Mangaluru using HYDGEN’s proprietary PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer technology.

The systems are designed for industries that require continuous, high-purity hydrogen on-site and on-demand, eliminating dependence on cylinder logistics, reducing operational costs, and delivering the supply reliability that modern industrial processes demand.

Speaking on the occasion, Manipaddy Krishna Kumar, Co-Founder of HYDGEN, said unlike traditional supply models that rely on centralised production and physical transportation, HYDGEN’s modular architecture allows hydrogen to be generated precisely where and when it is needed.

Stating that the modular industrial hydrogen generation skids manufactured locally in Mangaluru represent a first-of-its-kind technology platform in India, he said this achievement aligns with the vision of the Prime Minister and supports India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, while also embodying the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Local for Global’ initiatives.

Goutham Dalapati, CTO of HYDGEN, said hydrogen systems must move beyond research environments and into real industrial applications.

“Mangaluru has given us the engineering foundation and the manufacturing discipline to build systems that industries can adopt today. This dispatch is proof that deep-tech, built in Karnataka, can meet the demands of modern industry, and scale further from here,” he said.

Flagging off eight modular industrial hydrogen generation skids from Mangaluru facility to a lab-grown diamond manufacturer in Surat, Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada, said Dakshina Kannada is an ocean of possibilities. HYDGEN’s success in Mangaluru highlights the ‘Make in India’ concept of the Government.

Stressing the need to focus on quality to excel in manufacturing sector, he said HYDGEN should be the next big thing created out of Mangaluru region.

Ramyasri Doddamani Srivastava, Director of HYDGEN, welcomed the gathering. Incorporated in Singapore and India, HYDGEN serves industries where hydrogen availability, reliability, and cost are operational imperatives.
