The Los Angeles-based melodic techno artist released her new single ‘Lucid Dream’ on May 20, 2026, and the response was immediate. Within 24 hours, the track had charted at #47 on Beatport’s Techno Peak Time / Driving Top 100, a genuinely impressive feat for an independent, self-produced release going up against some of the most established names in electronic music.
But the chart position, as exciting as it is, almost undersells what ‘Lucid Dream’ actually is. MOON wrote and produced the track entirely on her own, building it around a concept that is both simple and hard to shake: the feeling of being suspended between sleep and waking, half here and half somewhere else entirely.
“I wanted to capture that feeling of being half here and half somewhere else,” she explains. “To give people a song they could disappear into and feel whatever they feel.”
That sense of atmosphere runs through everything MOON does. Her music is rooted in themes of space, imagination, and transformation, pulling listeners between states of consciousness rather than pinning them to a single emotion. She describes her process as instinctive: the second an idea arrives, she starts building, without plans or overthinking, just the impulse to bring something to life.
It is an approach that is clearly working. With over 200K followers across Instagram and TikTok and a Beatport chart entry that arrived before most artists have even started their promo cycle, MOON is building momentum on her own terms.
She is also refreshingly clear about what she hopes her music actually does for people.
“I hope my music gives people permission to feel whatever they feel and to be whoever they want to be,” she says. “My greatest hope is that it gives people the courage to be themselves and to find happiness in that.”
For a genre that can sometimes feel more focused on the technical than the emotional, that kind of intention stands out. ‘Lucid Dream’ is the sound of an artist who knows exactly what she wants to say and has found a way to say it without words.
