Roberto De Zerbi is driving his side’s move for the Newcastle United midfielder.

Tonali has emerged as one of Spurs’ leading transfer targets ahead of next season.
Although they have approached the Italian, they are yet to open talks with Newcastle.
A host of Premier League clubs are also keen on the 26-year-old, including Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, Tonali’s current preference is to return to former club AC Milan.
He spent three years with the Italian giants prior to his £52million move to St. James’ Park in 2023.
During his time with Milan, Tonali won a Serie A title during the 2021/22 season.
His current Newcastle contract has two years remaining before it expires in 2028.
Tonali made 53 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side across all competitions.
Across those outings, he scored three goals and provided seven assists.
However, those were not enough to help the Magpies qualify for Europe.

Spurs’ transfer business
De Zerbi has already got to work building his side for next season after Spurs narrowly avoided relegation.
Andy Robertson has joined the club on a free transfer from Liverpool after nine years at Anfield.
The left-back will be joined by Marcos Senesi, who will also arrive when his contract expires with Bournemouth on June 30.
Spurs have also seen two bids rejected for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke.
Meanwhile, they turned back an offer from the Seagulls for Luka Vuskovic over the weekend.
