North West released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, on May 1 and celebrated the project with a two-day pop-up event in Los Angeles.
The 12-year-old daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian hosted the event at Complex’s Fairfax shop, where fans gathered to hear the six-track EP and purchase exclusive merchandise. North also met with attendees and signed vinyl copies of the project, along with limited-edition apparel created for the drop.
West attended the first day of the pop-up with his wife Bianca Censori and spent time greeting fans, taking photos, and signing items inside the store.
Kardashian did not attend the first night but appeared during the second day of the pop-up in support of her daughter.
N0rth4evr includes six tracks and introduces North’s sound across a mix of styles. The release marks North’s first official EP and her first full rollout centered around her own music.
The opening track, “H0w Sh0uld ! f33l,” pairs melodic vocals with fast-paced production. Across the EP, the sound shifts between styles influenced by current rap and pop.
The release also picked up early praise. Rolling Stone rated the EP a 4.5 out of 5 and wrote, “If it wasn’t already clear that North West, the scion of the West-Kardashian throne, had inherited serious star power, it only takes roughly 10 minutes for her to prove it on her debut EP. Over an efficient six tracks, West traverses the sonic styles of her generation — from nu-metal riffs to rage-rap 808s — with dazzling confidence. At just 12 years old, North’s debut is impressive regardless of her famous pedigree. Even for music royalty, talent still has to announce itself, and that’s what she’s done with N0rth4evr.”
North is the eldest child of West and Kardashian. The former couple also share three younger children: Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
