Dakota Woodside was the golden girl of the hour this past weekend
The daughter of Golden Brooks and D.B. Woodside stepped out for junior prom on Saturday, with friends and family gathered to send her off.
Golden shared photos from the night on Instagram, showing Dakota before she headed out.
One shot showed the 16-year-old on the staircase with her date, slightly turned toward each other as he held her hand.
Another snapshot showed her posing with both parents.
“Wow!! And this was just prom! I can’t even imagine when she gets married…Project PROM wore me all the way out. All worth it!”
Dakota wore a blush-toned gown with gold embroidery and an off-the-shoulder neckline. The bodice was fitted, with the skirt falling softer at the bottom in tulle. She added a necklace, drop earrings, and a corsage.

Her date kept things classic in a gray suit and tie.
Dakota recently made her acting debut in a short film with Kids in the Spotlight as part of their 2025 Short Film Series and Brooks couldn’t help but gush about the milestone.
“Dakota performed in her first movie short with @kidsinthespotlight for their short film series! So impressed and so proud of all who took part in this amazing project… Dakota, you shined young lady… Keep striving. Keep rising,” the actress wrote. “Everyone who came out to support and give words of encouragement to these young budding artists was just next level!”
Brooks and D.B. Woodside welcomed their daughter, Dakota Tao Brooks-Woodside, in 2009. She will turn 17 years old this year.
