Trafford re-joined the club from Burnley in a £27million deal, expecting to be Pep Guardiola’s first-choice stopper.

However, City later swooped to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, who immediately displaced Trafford between the sticks.

The 23-year-old has not made a Premier League appearance since August but impressed against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final, which City won 2-0.

He also made his senior England debut against Uruguay last month.

According to The Sun, Spurs are now considering a move for Trafford ahead of next season.

The City academy graduate is seen as a candidate to succeed Guglielmo Vicario in goal for the north London side.

Vicario has been linked with an exit in the summer, with Italy legend Walter Zenga urging Inter Milan to sign his compatriot.

As for Trafford, Spurs could face competition from a Premier League rival for his signature.
