Liverpool fans rage at ‘sackable offence’ as shocking Premier League stat emerges amid Brighton loss

The Merseyside outfit lost 2-1 at the Amex Stadium in a clash that saw kick-off pushed back by 15 minutes.

Things got off to the worst possible start for the visitors when star striker Hugo Ekitike left the pitch in tears after picking up an injury.

Danny Welbeck added to Liverpool’s woes by breaking the deadlock in the opener in the 14th minute, before Milos Kerkez equalised on the half-hour mark following a Lewis Dunk error.

Welbeck would restore the Seagulls’ lead in the 54th minute with the hosts to hold on for all three points down on the south coast.

The loss saw Liverpool fail to briefly leapfrog Aston Villa into fourth spot after suffering their second top-flight defeat from their last three fixtures.
