Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano will clash tonight and no one is more excited than the fans who attended their weigh-in.
The pair will compete for the undisputed super welterweight world titles in a highly-anticipated fight.
This is not the first time Charlo and Castano have met in the ring, as they battled to a split decision draw last July.
It seemed Castano had done enough to win the fight, but one of the judge’s scored it 117-111 in favour of Charlo, prompting a rematch.
If the first fight is anything to go by, we can expect fireworks in the rematch and it’s safe to say the fans are looking forward to fight night, as they were in full voice at the weigh-in.
Castano fans danced to the beat of a drum, waving Argentinian flags around in a festival-like atmosphere, while Charlo fans chanted ‘USA’ in response.
Charlo’s wife held his unified WBC, WBA and IBF belts aloft and said, “Where’s the belts at? Our side.”
The American’s dad even got involved, as he shouted over the clamour of the Argentinian fans, ‘we came here to claim what’s ours and that’s what we’re gonna do’.
Both men weighed in under the super welterweight 154 lb limit, with Charlo registering 152 and three quarter lbs, while Castano weighed in at 153 and three quarter lbs.
The fight will be broadcast live on Showtime in America, but it has not been picked up by any official major UK broadcaster.
As a result, it will be live and free to watch for UK fans on PBC’s YouTube channel.
The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 2am UK time in the early hours of Sunday morning.
