Canelo Alvarez has voiced his disapproval over the current trend for YouTuber and celebrity fights.
Boxing’s pound-for-pound king is due to face Britain’s Billy Joe Saunders in a big unification bout on May 8, but a lot of the talk in the sport has recently been about other events.

Floyd Mayweather announced this week that he will have an exhibition bout with Logan Paul on June 6.
Canelo’s is not a fan of his old foe’s next bout.
The Mexican told In-Depth With Graham Bensinger: “It’s not really relevant at all.
“It’s an exhibition, just for making money. It’s stupid.”

“They give them boxer’s licences when they’re not a boxer,” he explained.
“They could get them killed. This is not a soccer game, they could get them killed.
“Why do they give licences to people who have never in their life even thrown a punch?
“If there’s a death, the commission will be responsible.
“Why? Because they issued the licence for the fight.”
